Penspen is hiring an experienced Specialist Rotating Engineer (Construction) with a strong background in the oil & gas industry

Key responsibilities:

• Supervise the installation, inspection, alignment, testing, and commissioning of pumps, compressors, turbines, and other rotating equipment.
• Ensure construction activities comply with approved drawings, specifications, vendor requirements, API standards, and project procedures.
• Review method statements, inspection and test plans, lifting plans, and installation procedures.
• Verify equipment foundations, anchor bolts, baseplates, grouting, shaft alignment, piping connections, lubrication, and preservation.
• Coordinate with construction contractors, vendors, engineering, QA/QC, HSE, commissioning, and operations teams.
• Monitor site progress and resolve technical issues affecting quality, safety, cost, or schedule.
• Witness equipment inspections, mechanical run tests, vibration checks, and performance testing.
• Identify and rectify installation defects, punch-list items, and non-conformances.
• Maintain construction records, inspection reports, equipment dossiers, and handover documentation.
• Promote compliance with project HSE requirements and safe working practices.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related discipline,
• 17+ years of oil & gas experience in the oil and gas industry.
• 5+ years in PMC projects
• Thorough knowledge of construction methodologies, HSE regulations, quality standards, and international codes
• Experience managing contractors, subcontractors, construction planning, and project execution in live operating facilities
• Experience supporting procurement, construction, pre-commissioning, commissioning, and start-up activities.
• Strong experience in greenfield & brownfield compression facility projects.
• GCC/Middle East oil & gas project experience is preferred.
