Senior Process Risk Engineer

Penspen is hiring an experienced Senior Process Risk Engineer with a strong PMC experience to join our team in Abu Dhabi. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying, assessing, and mitigating process safety risks, ensuring compliance with client requirements, international standards, and regulatory obligations.

Key responsibilities:

  • Lead and facilitate process safety and risk assessments throughout the project lifecycle, including FEED, Detailed Engineering, and EPC phases.
  • Conduct and facilitate HAZID, HAZOP, SIL and ALARP studies.
  • Review Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS), Safety Requirement Specifications (SRS), Cause & Effect matrices, and SIL verification reports.
  • Participate in design reviews and provide recommendations to eliminate or mitigate process safety risks.
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary engineering teams, clients, licensors, contractors, and third-party consultants on process safety matters.
  • Support engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, start-up, and operational readiness activities from a process safety perspective.
  • Prepare process safety reports, action trackers, and ensure timely close-out of recommendations arising from safety studies.  

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical/Process/Safety Engineering,
  • 15+ years of oil & gas experience in the oil and gas industry.
  • 5+ years in PMC projects
  • Solid background in multi‑discipline engineering team EPC project.
  • Experience supporting procurement, construction, pre-commissioning, commissioning, and start-up activities.
  • Strong experience in greenfield & brownfield terminal and facilities upgrade projects.
  • GCC/Middle East oil & gas project experience is preferred.
