Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Planning Engineer to join our team, focusing on the planning and risk management aspects of large-scale oil and gas projects. The ideal candidate will bring a wealth of experience (minimum 15 years) in the oil and gas industry, with at least 5 years working on offshore projects. Experience with major EPC projects, Project Management Consultancy (PMC), and ADNOC projects is essential. This is an office-based role, where the Senior Planning Engineer will be responsible for driving the planning function and ensuring effective risk management throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the planning and scheduling activities for large-scale oil & gas projects, ensuring alignment with project goals, timelines, and budgets.
- Develop, maintain, and monitor detailed project schedules, ensuring that critical milestones are achieved and delays are identified early.
- Work closely with project teams to collect data, review progress, and forecast potential issues.
- Proactively manage and report project risks, identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks throughout the project lifecycle.
- Provide accurate and timely project status reports to stakeholders, including detailed analysis of schedule performance, critical path, and potential delays.
- Collaborate with engineers, contractors, and other project teams to integrate various project functions into an efficient and comprehensive schedule.
- Support the project management team with performance data and provide recommendations to resolve scheduling conflicts or delays.
- Ensure compliance with project execution strategies, procedures, and industry best practices.
- Conduct regular meetings with internal and external stakeholders, including project management teams, contractors, and clients, to track project progress.
- Contribute to the preparation of project proposals, bids, and contract reviews, particularly in the planning and scheduling areas.
- Lead or participate in planning workshops and risk assessment sessions.
- Stay current with industry trends, technologies, and best practices in planning, scheduling, and risk management.

Qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Project Management, or a related field.
- Relevant certifications in project management and planning (e.g., PMP, PMI-RMP, or equivalent) preferred.
- Minimum of 15 years of experience in the oil and gas industry, with significant experience in major EPC projects.
- At least 5 years of experience in offshore oil and gas projects.
- Strong experience with Project Management Consultancy (PMC) roles and ADNOC projects.
- Demonstrated hands-on experience in planning and risk management, with a deep understanding of the tools, methodologies, and processes required.

- Proficiency in planning and scheduling software (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project).
- Extensive experience in developing, analyzing, and managing project schedules.
- Strong risk management capabilities, including identifying, analyzing, and developing mitigation strategies for project risks.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders and present complex information clearly.
- Ability to work independently, take initiative, and make informed decisions under pressure.
