Job Description
Minimum Requirements:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Electrical / Electrical & Electronics engineering from a reputed university, though Master Degree is added advantage.
2. Minimum of 12 years of experience in the Oil & Gas Industry of which at least 5 years being related to design of Offshore Electrical facilities.
3. Previous experience in Project Management Consultancy (PMC) or Direct Client Role related to Offshore / Onshore Oil & Gas Electrical facilities is added advantage.
4. Fluency in English Language.
5. Conversant with relevant International Code & Standards related to Electrical engineering and in general Oil & Gas industry.
6. Detailed Hands-on Experience on Electrical Design and Installation Engineering is essential including the following:
Brown field works, Review and approval of engineering for all Vendor prepared drawing & documents, knowledge in Solar Power System, Cathodic Protection System (Piping, Pipelines, Vessels & Tanks) & Electrical Heat Tracing Systems, Offshore Platform / Field Layouts, Assessment of Survey reports, etc.,
7. Proficiency in Electrical Engineering Softwares such as ETAP for Power System Study, Battery Sizing Calculations, Lighting Calculations (using Dialux or similar software) and other general-purpose softwares etc. Familiarity in using Aveva Electrical and Smart Plant Electrical.
Responsibilities :
1.Conduct feasibility/conceptual studies & in-house engineering for small and medium size projects
2.Prepare scope of work for external Engineering Consultants and EPC Contractors for theexecution of jobs.
3.Review the design works and studies performed by the Engineering Consultants and EPCContractor, and ensure that design works and studies are in accordance with the technicalrequirements and meet the standards.
4.Review and approve drawings, specifications and technical documents for all Electrical Designrelated works
5.Participate in the technical evaluation of tenders and issuance of recommendations on technicalbids.
6.Monitor the performance of Engineering Contractors/ Consultants & provide necessary designinputs and follow up during the execution of the basic and detailed engineering.
7.To have responsibility for all electrical engineering deliverables and ensure that they conform toall applicable engineering codes and standards as well as the Company’s policies andprocedures.
8.Ensure that the state-of-art technology is applied throughout the engineering phase for costeffective solutions and application of value-added engineering throughout the assigned works.
9.Participate in the pre-qualification of engineering consultants/ vendors and review the bidderslist.
10.Provide input/ update Engineering Procedures, Company standards, Technical Specifications,Design Philosophies and Engineering Guidelines.
11.Develop Business Cases, Execution Strategies and Scope of Work based on Statement ofRequirements received from various stakeholders.
12. Provide technical assistance, coordination and liaise with other discipline engineers within the Company and other business units on all aspects of technical and general requirements to ensure a consistent approach to project completion.
13. Impart training particularly to UAE nationals to meet their integration targets.
14. Take part in the selection of electrical equipment and energy optimization.
15. Prepare Design Basis, Philosophies, Specifications, Data sheet, Load List, Schedules, Sizing Calculations, Single Line Diagrams, Reports, Equipment Layouts, Cable Routing Drawings, Bill of Materials, etc., related to Electrical Engineering
16. Participate in all project Safety Workshops, E-HAZOP and Design Review Workshops as necessary.
17. Monitor progress of all Electrical engineering activities done by Engineering Consultants and EPC Contractors, to ensure quality and timely delivery.
18. Provide direction and guidance on Technical Queries and Deviation Requests relating to electrical engineering and liaise with Company Technical Authority for review and approvals.
19. Provide technical support in terms of material inspection, Factory Acceptance Testing, etc.
20. Identify any areas of concern with respect to progress and / or quality and recommend corrective actions as required.
21. Attend weekly progress meetings and generate status reports for the Engineering / Project Manager.
22. Ensure all lessons learnt are captured and shared.
23. Conduct Site Survey visits to offshore facilities as necessary.
