Senior Controls & Instrumentation Designer

Location: Aberdeen/London - Hybrid/Remote

LTD Rate: Circa £45 an hour

Duration: 9-12 month LTD contract outside IR35.

Applicants must have proven right to work in the UK for this role and be based in Aberdeen or London.

Do you have strong demonstrable experience on Autocad and 3D modelling?

Key Duties

Creates and checks engineering designs
Responsible for ensuring designs meet project requirements
Input to project plans
Identify areas of concern during any project or study
Produce cost- effective engineering solutions that are fit for purpose, safe and add value
Ability to address operational and maintenance issues in the design and liaise with colleagues for the best solution
Undertake surveys, both onshore and offshore
Experience on Autocad and 3D modelling

Producing the below design deliverables:

• Block Diagrams / Loop Diagrams / Termination Diagrams / Interconnection Diagrams / C&Es / Layout Diagrams / Cable Schedules / Hook-Up Diagrams / Material Requests / Reports / instrument index
• Reasonable Knowledge in Control system modification, particularly on the wiring interfaces between field instruments and between systems:
• DCS/PCS/ICSS / ESD/PSD / F&G / HIPPS / Metering / UCPs

Reasonable knowledge in field instrument cabling particularly:

• Control valves / Shutdown Valves / Pressure Safety Valves / Flowmeters / Pressure / Transmitters / Temperature Transmitters / Level Transmitters / Switches / F&G Detectors
• Understanding of CE/ATEX and UKCA knowledge is essential.
• Knowledge of Compressor and turbine control system
• Ability to read P&ID and develop complete C&I design package for construction
• Knowledge of IEC/API/BSI/NFPA
