Overview

The Commissioning Project Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of the facility commissioning from inception to completion. This role requires a deep understanding of gas compression systems, project management, and commissioning processes, procedures and requirements. The successful candidate will possess strong leadership, technical expertise, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, suppliers, and contractors.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute comprehensive commissioning plans, including project timelines, resource allocation, and risk assessment.
  • Lead and coordinate commissioning teams, ensuring efficient and safe operations.
  • Oversee pre-commissioning activities such as equipment inspection, installation, and testing.
  • Perform detailed equipment and system testing, calibration, and performance verification.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues during the commissioning phase.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards, regulatory requirements, and quality control procedures.
  • Monitor project progress, identify potential challenges, and implement corrective actions.
  • Prepare detailed commissioning reports and documentation including project progress reports.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to commissioning team members.
  • Collaborate with engineering, procurement, and construction teams to ensure project success.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Petroleum, or related field).
  • Minimum of 15 years of overall experience with at least 5 years in direct commissioning roles.
  • In-depth knowledge of gas compression systems, equipment, and processes.
  • Proven project management skills and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Proficient in relevant software applications (e.g., project management, engineering design).
  • Willingness to travel to project sites as required.

Desired Skills

  • Experience with commissioning gas compression projects.
  • Knowledge of industry standards and best practices.
  • Certification in project management.
  • Strong understanding of safety protocols and risk management.
