Lead Quality Engineer - Piping (Site-Based)

We are seeking an experienced Lead Quality Engineer – Piping to oversee and manage piping quality activities at the project site. The ideal candidate will have 18+ years of experience in the oil and gas sector, with a strong background in piping fabrication, welding, and installation quality assurance and control.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and supervise all site-based piping quality control and assurance activities.

  • Ensure compliance with project specifications, codes, standards (ASME, API, etc.), and client requirements.

  • Review and approve method statements, inspection and test plans (ITPs), and welding procedures.

  • Conduct regular inspections, surveillance, and audits on piping fabrication and installation.

  • Coordinate with construction, engineering, and third-party inspectors for quality-related matters.

  • Monitor and track quality metrics and maintain comprehensive documentation.

  • Support the resolution of non-conformances (NCRs) and initiate corrective/preventive actions.

  • Provide guidance and mentoring to site QA/QC team members.

  • Participate in final system walk-downs and turnover documentation preparation.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent.

  • Minimum 18 years of quality engineering experience in Oil & Gas projects, with a strong focus on piping systems.

  • In-depth knowledge of welding processes, materials, and piping systems used in the oil and gas industry.

  • Certifications such as CSWIP 3.1/3.2, AWS-CWI, or equivalent preferred.

  • Familiarity with international codes and standards (ASME B31.3, API, ISO).

  • Strong leadership, communication, and documentation skills.

  • Prior site-based experience on large-scale EPC or brownfield/greenfield projects
