Asset Integrity Engineer

Location: Newcastle - Hybrid role

Penspen are looking for an Asset Integrity Engineer to be a part of our amazing team in Newcastle.

Up to 5 years experience in Asset Integrity we look forward to hear from you.

 

 

Main Purpose of Role:

The main purpose of the role is to manage projects, clients and execute technical work in cooperation with the Senior Integrity Engineers. In addition to this the role includes: providing input to marketing and business development.

 

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors or Masters in a subject related to the technical discipline is considered Ideal, but not essential;
  • Member of a relevant professional body such as IGEM or IMechE and working toward chartership;

 

 

Knowledge / Experience (Skills):

  • Up to 5 years’ experience within the relevant technical discipline;
  • Excellent verbal/written communication skills;
  • Excellent attitude and drive for self improvement
  • Experience/understanding of several of the following areas: defect assessment, fracture mechanics, PIMS,finite element analysis, materials, corrosion management, fatigue analysis, stress/strain analysis, free-spananalysis, fitness for service and relevant codes, standards and recommended practices;
  • Ability to work within a consultancy environment and ability to demonstrate a consulting mindset (scope solutions to client needs, propose, deliver and get repeat work);
  • Experience of writing technical proposals and reports;
  • Willingness to travel and work at various Penspen/customer locations on occasion
  • Relevant administrative software skills including Microsoft
  • Experience of relevant technical software such as QuestFFS, Crackwise, Abaqus, Caesar, Mathcad, etc
  • Coding experience desirable

 

 

Responsibilities:

The role requires an understanding and implementation of a range of fundamental principles and techniques related to asset integrity management, risk management, life extension and Energy Transition.

 

Tasks will included:

  • · Executing pipelines integrity (FFS / RBI) assessments under the supervision of Senior Engineers
  • · Executing plant / pressurised static assets fitness for service assessments
  • · Producing hand calculations as and when required using MS Excel or MathCad.
  • · Producing high quality deliverables (such as reports, drawings etc.) as required by project.
  • · Manage small projects and studies in accordance with company Project Performance system.
  • · Optimisation of team processes and automation of calculations through coding
