Construction Manager

Penspen is hiring an experienced Construction Manager with a strong background in the oil & gas industry to lead project planning and scheduling activities throughout the project lifecycle. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe, timely, and cost-effective execution of construction works, ensuring compliance with project specifications, quality standards, HSE requirements, and contractual obligations.

Key responsibilities:

  • Plan, manage, and oversee all on-site construction activities from mobilization through mechanical completion and handover.
  • Lead multidisciplinary construction teams and coordinate civil, structural, mechanical, piping, electrical, instrumentation, and telecom activities.
  • Ensure construction execution complies with approved drawings, specifications, project procedures, and applicable codes and standards.
  • Coordinate with engineering, procurement, project controls, QA/QC, HSE, commissioning, contractors, and client representatives to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Monitor construction progress against the project schedule and implement corrective actions to mitigate delays.
  • Manage subcontractors, vendors, and construction resources to achieve project objectives.
  • Conduct site meetings, progress reviews, constructability assessments, and interface coordination with stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with HSE requirements, permit-to-work systems, and company safety policies, promoting a strong safety culture.
  • Review and resolve site technical queries, field changes, and construction issues in coordination with the engineering team.
  • Monitor productivity, resource utilization, quality performance, and construction costs, ensuring works are completed within budget.
  • Support pre-commissioning, commissioning, start-up, and project handover activities

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related discipline,
  • 20+ years of oil & gas experience in the oil and gas industry.
  • 5+ years in PMC projects
  • Thorough knowledge of construction methodologies, HSE regulations, quality standards, and international codes
  • Experience managing contractors, subcontractors, construction planning, and project execution in live operating facilities
  • Experience supporting procurement, construction, pre-commissioning, commissioning, and start-up activities.
  • Strong experience in greenfield & brownfield compression facility projects.
  • GCC/Middle East oil & gas project experience is preferred.
