Construction Manager

We are seeking an experienced Construction Manager to lead and oversee all civil and underground infrastructure construction activities for a major oil & gas top side facilities installation on artificial island.

The role will be responsible for managing execution, safety, quality, schedule, and coordination of complex land-based civil works, including piling, foundations, trenching, underground utilities, cable laying, and associated infrastructure installation.

The ideal candidate will possess strong experience in large-scale infrastructure construction projects and demonstrate the ability to manage multidisciplinary construction teams in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

Construction Management

  • Lead all onsite construction activities related to civil and underground infrastructure works.
  • Manage construction execution in accordance with project schedules, specifications, drawings, and HSE requirements.
  • Coordinate daily activities of contractors, subcontractors, consultants, and site supervision teams.
  • Ensure efficient deployment of manpower, equipment, and materials.

Civil & Underground Scope Oversight

  • Manage and supervise works including but not limited to:
  • Piling and deep foundation systems
  • Excavation and trenching activities
  • Underground utility installation
  • HDPE, GRP, ductile iron, and reinforced concrete piping systems
  • Stormwater, sewer, potable water, and drainage networks
  • Electrical and communication duct banks
  • MV/LV cable laying and underground cable installations
  • Road subgrade and civil infrastructure interfaces
  • Review and monitor construction schedules and recovery plans.
  • Coordinate interfaces between civil, MEP, utility, and infrastructure packages.
  • Participate in constructability reviews and work sequencing.

Quality & Compliance

  • Ensure all works comply with project specifications, quality standards, and local authority regulations.
  • Review and approve method statements, inspection test plans (ITPs), and construction procedures.
  • Support QA/QC teams in inspections and resolution of non-conformance reports (NCRs).

Health, Safety & Environment

  • Promote and enforce a strong HSE culture across all site activities.
  • Ensure compliance with all project HSE policies and procedures.
  • Participate in risk assessments and toolbox talks.

Reporting

  • Monitor productivity and progress.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly construction progress reports for senior management.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil or mechanical engineering.

Experience

  • Minimum 20+ Years of which at least 12–15 years of construction experience in major infrastructure projects.
  • Proven experience managing civil and underground utility works on large-scale developments.
  • Strong knowledge of underground utility systems, foundation works, and heavy civil construction methodologies.
  • Experience working in the Middle East/GCC region is an advantage.
