Main Purpose of Role:

The main purpose of the role is to manage projects, clients and execute technical work in cooperation with the Senior Integrity Engineers. In addition to this the role includes: providing input to marketing and business development.

 

Responsibilities:

Leading Business:

The role requires an understanding and implementation of a range of fundamental principles and techniques across a variety of contexts. It has a wide scope for personal autonomy.

 

  • Responsibilities for project execution, marketing, proposals within the integrity discipline as required for the asset integrity team including:
  • Being accountable and responsible for the management and execution of projects and technical support of projects as required;
  • Being accountable for maintaining a technical dialog with clients;
  • Being accountable for preparing technical proposals and inputting into technical proposals;
  • Traveling to regions to support activities as required;
  • Developing Penspen’s technical brand by engaging with clients and industry; 
  • Responsibilities for the development of capability within the discipline including:
  • Support the building of the Asset Integrity team’s existing knowledge base including hard to obtain (tactic) knowledge, lessons learnt and practical knowhow with input from the discipline technical communities;
  • Working with the technical community to develop recommendations for the adoption of third party software;
  • Working with technical discipline communities to develop concepts for new products and services;
  • Input to competency and performance assessments;
  • Support the identifying and assessing of competencies of third parties as required for project execution, mentoring, training, product development, sales and marketing.

 

Knowledge / Experience (Skills):

  • 1-2 years’ experience within the relevant technical discipline;
  • Excellent verbal/written communication skills;
  • Experience/understanding of several of the following areas: defect assessment, fracture mechanics, PIMS, finite element analysis, materials, corrosion management, fatigue analysis, stress/strain analysis, free-span analysis, fitness for service and relevant codes, standards and recommended practices;
  • Ability to work within a consultancy environment and ability to demonstrate a consulting mindset (scope solutions to client needs, propose, deliver and get repeat work);
  • Experience of writing technical proposals and reports;
  • Willingness to travel and work at various Penspen/customer locations
  • Relevant administrative software skills including Microsoft
  • Experience of relevant technical software such as QuestFFS, Crackwise, Abaqus, Caesar, Mathcad, etc

 

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors or Masters in a subject related to the technical discipline is considered Ideal, but not essential;
  • Member of a relevant professional body such as IGEM or IMechE and working toward chartership;
